June 17, 2017 ! 55 years !
Small group this time...with another gathering in October?
A Gallery of 62ers!
I'll be adding to the above group of pics that were provided by our class photographer, Madeline Salvani.
I've got hundreds to go through, so it may take me some time. Your patience is truly appreciated,
but just may result some pretty good memories for us all.

Here's another bunch that were sent to me by Maddy.
The Class of '62 & Friends celebrated their 50th Reunion! We were feeling quite hearty and ready to party! Lots of memories when we reunited! It was lots of fun; and we're glad you were one Of the Raiders who joined us that night! The class of 1962 held their reunion over a 4-day period that started with a casual get-together on June 20th for dinner/drinks at the Park Restaurant. The years melted away, as we amazingly all picked up right where we left off! Thankfully our memories are still intact and those hysterical high school stories (think Dot Keefe, Fred Ryerson tie days, science fair mishaps, sorority pledging....etc) brought many laughs. For about 27 of us, the reception and subsequent tour of our old high school on Thursday turned into a brain challenge trying to find our old classrooms. Fortunately we all recognized the gym.....where memories of Graduation led to stories about The Storm and subsequent power failure....as well as remembering that group of 'older' people watching us as they celebrated their 50th reunion. We had now come full circle...so off we went to The Park for more stories! Friday at Round Pond was a hoot! Our DJ Pat Flynn played oldies (and we knew the words) throughout the day. Lunch (burgers, sausage & peppers, salads & plenty to drink) lasted until the mid-afternoon snack (shrimp cocktail & steamed clams). Several people went swimming and found no ladder at the raft, but that challenge was met successfully with a little help from our old friends! Dinner (chicken & steak) was preceded by a champagne toast. Barry Berglund brought the champagne & glasses and gave a sentimental toast as well as a heartfelt tribute to our 21 departed classmates. Sadly, we lost two more after the reunion - John Learch in August and Eve Robert Frank shortly after that. We also toasted Barry, as the entire party on Friday was his generous gift to all of us. He truly believes in paying it forward and we will always be grateful for his part in bringing us all together. |
After giving out many prizes (Sid Porter's wonderful CD's) for various "accomplishments", Wild Bill Rooney introduced us to a hysterical game of Butt Darts. Bill won, with Ken Tupacz coming in a very close second, and we left Bonneville Cabin to continue the party into the night at The Park. Saturday breakfast (yes, The Park) was a bit nostalgic, knowing that we would all be going back home...yet trying to hang on to what has become an event that makes us smile every time we think about it (or have coffee in those 50th Reunion Mugs!) Our yearbook pictures are faces smiling at the future. Years have passed and we have earned our wrinkles...there is gray in our hair. And yet, we are still the same class who bonded all those years ago and remain friends to this day. Thank you to all who came to create another wondrous memory. Thank you to the committee, who amazingly had their first Highland Falls meeting (4 hours) in March (yes, at The Park) and managed to pull off that whole weekend 3 months later! They are: Mike & Roxanne Camporeale, Charlie Forman, Ann (Lucas) Cooper, Jacque (Dapra) & Lenny (we miss him) Yarashefski, Barbara (Adams) & Walt Weissmann, Barry Berglund (from afar), Mady Salvani, Louise (LaZizza) Mangan ...and Suzanne (Redner) Lewis '63 who, along with Mike Galu, was already in the planning stages for their reunion a full year+ ahead of time. We hope '63 has as much fun as we did! Thank you to all 50 of you who took the time from your busy lives to come and join us: Karen Delbaugh McCormick & Neil Flickenschild, Lois Smith Stone (TN), Ron & Pat LaMarche (VA), Mike & Babs Bavaro (OH), Brian & Nancy Flanagan (NC), Nancy Nugent Duesenbury (CA), Jim & Carol Alyward (FL), Ken Tupacz (TX), Charlie & Ralfanita Forman, Mike & Roxanne (Tonneson) Camporeale (MA), Barry Berglund (NC), Barbara (Adams) & Walt Weissmann, Mady Salvani, Ann Lucas Cooper, Bill Rooney (AU), Frank Kobes (IL), Sheila Garrison, Ray & Jane Gruno, Kevin Childs, Sid & Bobbie Porter, Margaret Redner Duffrin (NC), Suzanne (Redner) & Wilbert Lewis, Suzanne Ferrell Nicholson (VA), David (Turkey) & Joanne McCormick, Joanne Peneseski Bartlett (MA), Ronnie (Konopko) & Steven Wojtkowski, Eve Robert Frank, Pharoby Ripa, Alex & Barbara Snoop, John & Maggie Durning, Barry Wagner & Stephanie Campbell, Jacque Dapra Yarashefski, Phil Kennedy and Louise LaZizza Mangan. When any of you happen to be in the HF area, let us know so we can maybe get some of us together and meet (where else) at The Park!
